Finally a Water Taxi from Bluffton to Daufuskie Island!

Are you looking for a private water taxi from Bluffton to Daufuskie Island?  If the answer is yes, call Captain Chris Shoemaker at 843-304-2878.  Captain Shoemaker is the owner of May River Excursions and where he offers fishing charters and dolphin watching charters in addition to the water taxi to Daufuskie.   You can visit www.mayriverexcursions.com or email Captain Chris at mayriverexcursions@gmail.com.

Ask Captain Chris about lining up a golf cart rental for your 4 hour self guided tour.  A day on Daufuskie is a day you will never forget.  Cart yourself to view the historic arhitecture, museum or other landmarks.   Pack a lunch or plan your trip so that you can dine at Marshside Mama’s, The Daufuskie Crab Company, or Eagles Nest.  Of course stop by to see Daufuskie’s island artisans Chase Allen of The Iron Fish Gallery or Lancy Burn of Silver Dew Pottery.

2011 Iron Fish/Volunteers In Medicine Christmas Ornaments On Daufuskie Island

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

The 5th Annual, 2011 Iron Fish/Volunteers In Medicine Christmas Ornaments have finally made it back to Daufuskie Island.  The Volunteers in Medicine fund raiser ornaments are made by Chase Allen from The Iron Fish Gallery and hand decorated by the Daufuskie Island Elementary School students.  After the students decorate the ornaments,  all 200 colorful swimmers head to hilton head for packaging and then are delivered back by Daufuskie resident and Volunteers in Medicine Nurse Diane Simonelli.

If you would like to add to your ornament collection or start a new one, please contact Diane Simonelli at 842-4570.  Only 100 are coming back to Daufuskie so call Diane ASAP to get the pick of the litter.  They sell out every year!

Happy Holidays from The Iron Fish Gallery, The Daufuskie Island Elementary School, and of course, our low country heros, Volunteers in Medicine.

Coastal Bedroom With Mermaid Art Sculptures & Coral Decor

This coastal bedroom looks amazing with it’s horizontal wood slat walls painted white and the subtle colored coral decor and handcrafted mermaid art (only $370) as the focal piece.  These soft colors bring about relaxation that all beach homes should offer.  This room epitomizes what we visualize as the perfect place to wake up while on vacation.  A nice cool breeze floating in accompanied by the sounds of waves gently rolling on to the shores…..this coastal bedroom is coastal living.

It’s vintage style is perfect for this iron fish vintage finished mermaid art sculpture.  All iron fish coastal sculptures were made for beach house bedrooms just like this one.  All decor should match the natural surroundings of the water, sand, and sky.  That is a simple way to make an award winning coastal bedroom ready for the magazines.  Keep it simple.  Keep it fresh.

marshside mama's new website

Congrats to Beth Shipman for finally getting Marshide Mama’s a website.  This is long over due.  I encourage everyone to check out the new site and also check out the music she has booked for this spring/summer.  One man band Ben Prestage returns to the island after first playing here with blues legend Eddie Kirkland at least 2+ years ago.  Ben is high energy and a must see.
