Nautical Decor

The nautical sculptures photographed on this page are all forged out of steel by metal sculptor Chase Allen on Daufuskie Island, SC.  Look closely and you can see the hand-hammered texture and rustic finish that his coastal sculptures are famous for.

Try one in blue “uncooked” or red “cooked”, as seen in the coastal decorated kitchen below.  Many thanks to Iron Fish Collector Jeff Cross and his family for allowing a photo shoot of his beautifully decorated coastal home.

blue crab sculpture

This coastal kitchen has a relaxing beach side cottage feel to it, but I would make just one change to the decor: replace that blue crab art on the wall with a nice big blue crab sculpture from Iron Fish Art.

COOL Night Time Back-Light Sculpture Too!!!

This blue crab sculpture is an awesome coastal accent piece that is also back-lit at night although we don’t have a picture of that.  Nevertheless, we have posted below a nighttime photo of an iron fish sculpture that is back-lit.  Hopefully this image will help you imagine the large blue crab sculpture at night.  While all Iron Fish Chase Allen designed coastal sculptures are intended to be interior wall art, they make for great exterior coastal decor as well.  The artist would however like to inform everyone that if you choose to place your coastal sculpture outdoors in the sun and rain, please expect oxidation and the rusting process to increase.  Sun and rain combined always win.  Ask any automobile!

Coastal Gifts/Nautical Gifts Can’t Be More Authentic When Hand Crafted

blue crab sculpture-coastal gift idea

blue crab sculpture-coastal gift idea

Many of us are fortunate enough to have or know someone who has a beach house.  The beauty behind knowing someone is that often we get use of that house.  If we own the home, we get lots of guests but that is not what I want to focus on in this blog.  Keep thinking coastal gift and blue crab sculpture.

A bottle of wine or a food basket as a “thank you” gift is a nice gesture but is quite temporary if you think about it.  Next time you want to give a coastal gift to someone, consider hand crafted art as a far more thoughtful,  permanent, and classy option.  If you really hit a home run and the recipients love your nautical gift, perhaps the next time they take a look at their vintage “Iron Fish” wall art they will think, “you know, we ought to have them back for another visit”.  Come on, let’s be honest, isn’t that the goal of giving a gift of appreciation anyways? (Smiley face here) Remember, an invite is great.  A second invite is better.  Give a gift that lasts!  Also, don’t forget that The Iron Fish sculptures can also come gift wrapped.  See this link:  GIFT WRAP for more information.  Gift wrapping options do not apply to medium or large iron mermaid sculptures.
