Beach House Decor Featuring Lobster Sculptures

Beach House Decorating with Lobster Sculptures

Greetings! Today we are going to show you a few decorating ideas featuring lobster sculptures.  Every lobster decoration photographed here was handcrafted out of steel on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina by coastal artist Chase Allen.  You can find out more about Chase and his work by clicking here.

Lobster Art

When you look closely at this sculpture, you can see the painstaking attention to detail made by Chase.  Notice the rustic finish and intricate cuts in the metal canvas that his work is now famous for.

In our blog the other day, which you can see by clicking here, we showcased 3 coastal decorating ideas for stingray sculptures featuring a Victorian coastal cottage from Martha’s Vineyard, that was photographed by our friends at Coastal Living.  Today I am going to show you a few more pictures of that beautiful beach house, and also recommend a few spots where I think a lobster sculpture would look great!

This room might not be the biggest in the world, but look at how they’ve maximized the space.  The two boys’ bunk beds are full of storage space underneath, saving a ton of room and hiding all of their mess I’m sure.  I think a lobster sculpture would be perfect right above their beds, showcased against the solid white wall.  It would match the red coastal accents in the room, and help the boys wake up every morning thinking about all the wonders of the ocean.  The beds and quilts are from Pottery Barn.

This coastal decor picture was featured in our stingray blog the other day, but I can’t help thinking a lobster sculpture would look great where the whale decoration now sits.  Highlighting the red accents in the other room, I think a lobster decoration would be truly eye-catching.

The lobster art photographed below is not from the same house, but I wanted to show you how impressive these sculptures look against a white wall.  This nautical sculpture looks great over the sink in this beautiful coastal kitchen.

3 Easy Stingray Sculpture Decor Ideas

3 Simple Tips for Decorating Your Coastal Cottage with Stingray Art

Here are a few simple suggestions to keep in mind when decorating your beach house with stingray sculptures.  The stingray decorations photographed on this page were all handcrafted by metal sculptor Chase Allen.  Forged out of steel on Daufuskie Island, Chase ensures the quality of every piece of art he makes will be without comparison.

1. Find your beach house decoration a good home.

Finding the right spot for your nautical decoration is an important decision.  I enjoy seeing Chase’s stingray art showcased against a white background, it really brings out the subtle curves and bends in the steel.

This giant stingray sculpture was created for Iron Fish Collectors Rich and Gale Silver.  Special thanks for allowing us to photograph their beautiful beach home on Daufuskie Island.  The hand-hammered texture of the stingray looks incredible against this solid white wall.

2. Know your decor.

It is important to know what decorations your beach house already contains, and coordinate accordingly.  The picture below is from our friends at Coastal Living, and it features a renovated Victorian cottage located in Martha’s Vineyard, originally built in 1869.

Martha's Vineyard Decor - Coastal Living

I love the renovated hardwood floors, and the white washed wood panel walls look great in keeping with the rustic theme embraced here.  The decorations around the entryway fit the nautical decor, but I think a stingray sculpture would look even better ;)

The rustic finish on the steel stingray would look great on these walls.  Here is another room in this beautifully renovated coastal cottage.

I love those arching doorways, so open and inviting.  Where would you place a stingray wall decoration?

3. Try something different!

In the picture below you can see how great stingray sculptures look in a school.  Chase has designed a special bracket on the back of every iron stingray decor that allows you to change the angle easily, so move them around, spread them out, and try something different!

2.  New Frames!

You may not notice the frame when you look at a beautiful picture or painting, but when decorating a room a simple change like new frames on your wall decorations can make a big difference.  Look at this mirror framed in seashells found on the beach.

3.  Display found objects from the beach!

The beautiful coastal decorated room pictured below is from our friends at Country Living.  I love how the cabinet in the corner is full of shells and starfish from the beach.  Fill your house with beautiful things that you find at the beach, whether it is seashells or sea glass.

I think this mermaid sculpture would look perfect with the sea green tones used to decorate this room.

Collecting seashells in clear glass jars makes a fun beachy activity a beautiful beach house decoration.  Fill your shelves with jars full of the shells you and your family find,  I love using mason jars.

5.  Let the light in!

Open your windows, pull back your curtains, and let in some fresh air and sunlight.  Breathing in all that fresh oxygen will do wonders for you and your home.

For Chase’s NEW line of nautical sculptures, he captures two of these design strategies and maximizes their potential, utilizing native Daufuskie pine trees to build these unique frames, and by creating a natural light at night that glows inside your beach home.

Scroll down the page to see how Chase Allen has ‘re-invented’ the nightlight.

During the day the antique finish his work is famous for is on display, making a beautiful rustic decoration for your beach house:
